At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Ulukbek Karybek uulu stated that many citizens of Kyrgyzstan are facing serious problems due to banned online casinos.

He emphasized that even schoolchildren are becoming victims of this dangerous activity.

“We are observing numerous negative social consequences from the operation of these casinos. Legislation prohibits citizens from participating in online casinos, but control over compliance with this ban is virtually nonexistent,” he noted.

Deputy Attorney General Umutkan Konkubaeva responded by pointing out that while playing in casinos is prohibited for Kyrgyz citizens, the online format does not fall under this ban.

In response, the deputy argued that the law clearly prohibits virtual gambling as well.

Konkubaeva added that the responsibility for this issue lies with the State Financial Intelligence Service.

In this regard, Ulukbek Karybek uulu called on the prosecutor's office and the State Financial Intelligence Service to intensify their efforts to block illegal online services and hold their organizers accountable.
