In Kazakhstan, an investigation has begun regarding former officials mentioned in scandalous materials related to Jeffrey Epstein. This was announced by Berik Asylov, the head of the General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan.

“We, as the General Prosecutor's Office, along with other agencies, are examining these facts to determine whether these events took place,” Asylov noted.

The preliminary measures concern figures such as the former Prime Minister of the country Karim Massimov and the former head of the National Bank Kairat Kelimbetov.

“As part of the preliminary investigation, it will be determined whether Epstein actually visited Kazakhstan. It will also be established whether Kelimbetov traveled abroad,” he added.

Earlier, deputies of the Mazhilis appealed to the special services with a request to verify information about possible connections between high-ranking Kazakh officials and Epstein based on data from his files.

According to available information, Karim Massimov's name appears in the records at least eight times, and it is also mentioned that Epstein and Kelimbetov may have spent time together.

It is worth noting that in April 2023, Massimov was sentenced to 18 years in prison on charges of treason and attempted seizure of power.

Additionally, in November 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump signed a law requiring the publication of all materials related to the Epstein case.

In the context of the scandal regarding connections with Epstein, both Democrats and Republicans were mentioned, with the published data including the names of numerous politicians, businessmen, and entertainment figures from various countries.
