She noted that the municipal enterprise "Tazalyk" carries out the culling of stray animals, for which the city treasury allocates between 4 to 7 million soms.
“This money could be directed towards more humane initiatives, such as building shelters or sterilizing animals. Why resort to such cruel methods towards our smaller brothers? This is not only a moral issue but also a matter of educating the younger generation so that they do not become cruel to animals,” emphasized Kozhokulova.
She also reminded that according to Article 163 of the Criminal Code, criminal liability is provided for cruelty to animals.
“I believe that the city prosecutor should determine how lawful the actions of the municipal enterprise employees are. Our city must be comfortable not only for people and cars but also for our little friends,” she added.
