In a number of cities in Kyrgyzstan, there are plans to install air monitoring stations

The Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, Asel Raimkulova, announced plans to install 11 air quality monitoring stations in five cities of Kyrgyzstan. This statement was made at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with agricultural policy and environmental protection.

According to the deputy minister's information, the stations will be installed in Bishkek, Osh, Kara-Balta, Tokmok, and Cholpon-Ata. Currently, the documents for this project are being coordinated with the World Bank.

Asel Raimkulova also spoke about current initiatives aimed at improving air quality in the country. As part of the World Bank project, which has a budget of 50 million dollars, new equipment has already been purchased for Kyrgyzhydromet.

“A tender will soon be held to create documentation for the construction of a modern center and laboratory intended for air pollution analysis. Currently, the process of concluding a contract for this work is underway. We have also signed a contract for the supply of two mobile laboratories for rapid air quality monitoring,” she added.
