Today, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, President Sadyr Japarov noted that the authorities are not opposed to holding rallies; however, such events must take place in designated areas and should not violate national traditions.

According to the head of state, there is a specially designated area for this purpose in Bishkek — the Maxim Gorky Park.

“It is important to emphasize that rallies and events are permitted. In the Maxim Gorky Park, such activities can be held without any problems; it is enough to notify the Bishkek city hall. No other permits are required. Some people believe that rallies are completely banned in our country,” Japarov stated.

He also added that the slogans used at rallies should be in accordance with the mentality and traditions of society.

“Recently, at a rally dedicated to International Women's Day, participants represented the interests of only 1% of the country's population. It is incorrect to speak on behalf of all 7.5 million citizens. The majority of people do not support such demands. If the majority of citizens shared the views expressed at the rally, we would not remain silent,” the president expressed his opinion.

Japarov emphasized that such slogans should not be heard on the streets, and their promotion is unacceptable. “We must oppose this, as it does not align with our traditions and customs,” he concluded.
