At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, called on the deputies for more constructive interaction with the government. He noted that mistakes and shortcomings often arise during the work process.

“Things don’t always go smoothly. If you notice any flaws in the bills, correct them. You are the Jogorku Kenesh, and that is exactly why you are here,” he emphasized.

The president recalled a case when deputy Dastan Bekeshev protested against one of the laws by excluding a certain paragraph. “I inquired at the Ministry of Internal Affairs about what happened and learned that the law was generally good; perhaps there was a misunderstanding,” he added.

Sadyr Japarov suggested: “Invite him or come to parliament yourselves for discussion. As a result, Bekeshev was invited to ‘Yntymak Ordo’, and after an hour-long conversation, he himself proposed an amendment for the second reading. It’s better to discuss such issues in advance than just to shout from the podium,” the president noted.

Speaking about reforms, Japarov emphasized the need for careful study of issues before their implementation. “Reforms are a complex process. I have been dealing with this for five years. As soon as a reform begins, protests and negative responses on social media arise immediately. People believe that the authorities are acting incorrectly,” he noted.

However, according to the president, behind these protests often lie the interests of those who may lose their income due to corruption and long tenures in their positions. “This is a very important aspect that should be taken into account,” the head of state concluded.
