Today, at the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, a draft law concerning the Accounts Chamber of the Kyrgyz Republic was approved. This constitutional project, initiated by the country's president, passed its second and third readings.

The aim of this draft law is to improve the legal regulation of the work of the Accounts Chamber, as well as to ensure its institutional, financial, and functional independence in accordance with international standards of external state audit.

According to the proposal, the number of auditors in the Accounts Chamber will be reduced from nine to three.
