The Jogorku Kenesh approved the proposal to reduce the number of auditors in the Accounts Chamber from 9 to 3 people

- At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh held on February 18, the deputies adopted the draft constitutional law "On Amendments to the Constitutional Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On the Chamber of Accounts of the Kyrgyz Republic'" in the first reading.

The initiator of this bill was the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts, Almazbek Akmatov, explained that this project is aimed at improving the legal regulation of the Chamber of Accounts' operations and ensuring its institutional, functional, and financial independence in accordance with international standards of external state audit (INTOSAI).

As part of the proposed changes, it is also planned to reduce the number of auditors in the Chamber of Accounts from nine to three, which means that the structure of the Chamber of Accounts will consist of three auditors and a chairman appointed from among them, as well as the apparatus and territorial subdivisions of the Chamber of Accounts.
