As Akmatov noted, there are currently 98 inspectors in the office who conduct audits, while auditors only perform oversight. In most large countries, there is only one chief auditor, which also confirms the need for changes.
According to him, reducing the number of auditors by six will lead to savings of 30 million soms.
Additionally, the VII convocation instructed the cabinet of ministers to increase auditors' salaries starting in April. With the support of the president, a 100% increase is planned, which will save about 60 million soms, the chairman of the Accounts Chamber added.
Akmatov specified that currently, inspectors are distributed among nine auditors. He also emphasized that in fact, audits are conducted by ten people, who may stay in one ministry for several months. The adoption of the new law will allow 30 inspectors to complete audit checks more quickly and move on to other agencies.
