At a meeting held on March 11, she emphasized that the judicial system has contributed to the recent corruption scandals in the country.
“Courts made unfounded decisions, arrests and sentences were sometimes issued at the direction of curators from the GKNB. Can we not put an end to this practice?” - the deputy asked.
The president asked her to name specific names of the curators.
“For example, Manas or Almambet? Does the name Sulaymankulov mean anything to you?” - he clarified.
Kozhokulova admitted that she does not know the names, but according to the judges, they were subjected to curation.
“Today this is not the case. It was in the past, and this must be acknowledged. Now everyone must perform their duties. There was a time when the curator was the head of the presidential administration: prosecutor, judge, police – all in one person. But now this is not the case. I have warned firmly,” - said the president.
The deputy concluded that reforms in the judicial system are still necessary.
The head of state also mentioned that he has a chat with some judges. “Some of them write themselves that they are being pressured to make certain decisions. I call them in and resolve the issues that arise,” - he added.
