How Kyrgyzstanis Celebrated Nowruz in Different Countries of the World
Nowruz is one of the oldest holidays in Central Asia, symbolizing the renewal of nature, the beginning of the new year according to the solar calendar, as well as the unity and continuity of cultures. In 2026, Kyrgyzstanis living abroad celebrated this day with great enthusiasm, bringing together compatriots and introducing foreigners to Kyrgyz customs.

Moscow: Gala Concert and Spirit of Unity

A jubilee, twentieth gala concert dedicated to Nowruz took place in Moscow. The event was held in an atmosphere of friendship and respect among the peoples living in Russia.

The concert gathered participants from various regions of the country and representatives of national diasporas. The organizers prepared a diverse cultural program, uniting both well-known Russian artists and representatives of ethnic groups.

On stage, artists such as the People's Artist of Dagestan Amrid Kelechiev with the project "Bakhtavar," the group "Zemlyane," the duet "Para" from Karachay-Cherkessia, as well as the winner of the project "Nu-ka, vse vmeste!" Minzhasar Murzaev performed. The festive atmosphere was enhanced by the performances of the dance ensemble "Keremet."

The concert was held in the cozy format of a "Blue Light" show. The hosts sat at tables adorned with dishes of traditional cuisine, discussing the holiday and engaging the audience in conversation.

A representative of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of Moscow emphasized that Russia is a unique country with more than 190 ethnic groups that know how to unite in difficult times, which is confirmed by the joyful celebration of Nowruz.

Seoul: A Cozy Celebration in Korea

Kyrgyzstanis also celebrated Nowruz in the Republic of Korea. A festive event took place in Seoul with the participation of the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic Aida Ismailova.

The program included both cultural performances and traditional rituals. Guests could witness the tushoo kesuu — a symbolic ceremony related to a child's first steps, as well as try their hand at kol kuresh (arm wrestling) and arkan tartysh (tug of war).

The concert portion was rich: Kyrgyz songs and dances filled the air, creating an atmosphere of a true folk celebration. Participants actively communicated, sharing news and memories of their homeland.

According to those present, such events are important for supporting cultural identity and passing traditions to the next generation. They expressed gratitude to the organizers for the high level of celebration.

Paris: Nowruz with a French Accent

As reported by VB.KG, the celebration of Nowruz in Paris has been postponed to April due to cold weather in March, which complicates the organization of outdoor events.

France always supports cultural diversity and initiatives that promote intercultural dialogue. Therefore, the April celebration promises to be more extensive and will allow for a better showcase of the richness of Kyrgyz traditions.

The event is expected to unite Kyrgyzstanis, diplomats, and local residents, becoming a notable cultural event that strengthens ties between Kyrgyzstan and France.

Despite the distances, Kyrgyzstanis around the world preserve their traditions. Nowruz remains a holiday that unites people, regardless of where they live, reminding them of their roots, culture, and shared values.

These events not only strengthen ties within the diaspora but also promote cultural dialogue with other peoples, forming a positive image of Kyrgyzstan abroad.
