As a result of an operation to combat corruption in border agencies, the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan detained the head of the checkpoint "Dostuk - road checkpoint."
According to the investigation, the detainee, known as "A.N.O.," created artificial queues at the border with the aim of extorting money.
The investigation suggests that he organized a system for receiving illegal monetary rewards through intermediaries for the unhindered passage of foreign citizens. He is also accused of assisting individuals engaged in cross-border crime.
At the moment, the suspect is in the temporary detention facility of the State Committee for National Security. The agency notes that the investigation is ongoing to identify all participants in the corruption scheme.
