A citizen of Kyrgyzstan, Ы.М., born in 1979, was arrested in the state of Illinois. His detention became possible thanks to the joint efforts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the state's Drug Enforcement Agency.
According to law enforcement agencies, the man had been on the international wanted list since 2023 based on an Interpol "red notice." He is suspected of committing large-scale fraud, which corresponds to Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan.
The investigation suggests that Ы.М. acted in collusion with А.Ч., who held a managerial position in one of the companies engaged in the sale of petroleum products. As a result of their actions, 1536.51 tons of heating fuel were stolen, leading to damages amounting to 51,780,387 soms.
Currently, Kyrgyz authorities are addressing the issue of extraditing the detainee to hold him criminally accountable.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, there are eight citizens of Kyrgyzstan in HSI (ICE) detention centers who are also wanted and undergoing deportation procedures. Three of them have already been deported to their homeland.
