It became known that on February 5, a complaint was received at the police station of the Bazar-Korgon district from a local resident T.M., born in 1991.
In his statement, he indicated that 71-year-old M.M., born in 1955, had committed physical and sexual violence against his granddaughter, a girl born in 2011. The applicant urgently requested that measures be taken in accordance with the applicable laws.
The statement was registered in the Unified Register of Crimes by the investigative department of the Bazar-Korgon District Department of Internal Affairs on February 5, 2026. As a result, a criminal case was opened under Article 154 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning rape.
The necessary forensic medical examinations were appointed for the girl, as stated in the official message.
On the same day, February 5, 71-year-old M.M. was detained as a suspect.
According to the decision of the Bazar-Korgon district court, he will be held in custody for two months.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
