On February 9, in Bishkek, law enforcement officers detained suspects involved in illegal extortion from drivers transporting goods from the "Dordoy" market. This was reported by the press service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB KR).

According to the agency, two men identified as D. Zh. and R. u. A. extorted money from truck drivers using threats and physical violence for 15 years. D. Zh. is also suspected of collaborating with law enforcement agencies and having connections with members of an organized crime group, such as Kamchybek Asanbek and Rysbek Akmatbaev.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the detained D. Zh. and R. u. A., and they have been placed in the temporary detention facility of GKNB KR.
