According to the deputy, the likely cause of the poisoning is the food served in the parliament cafeteria. In addition, local media note that there has been an increase in cases of rotavirus infection in Ukraine.

Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that "dozens of people" in his faction have been poisoned, and among the symptoms, they are experiencing high fever—up to 40 degrees—as well as vomiting and diarrhea. He is not aware of the condition of deputies from other factions.

As a result of the situation, the Verkhovna Rada was forced to suspend its sessions until February 24 due to a lack of quorum for voting.
