On February 14, 2026, an attempt to illegally export livestock was prevented at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. According to the Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, the incident occurred in the Leilek district, near the area known as "Tajik Nasos," close to the state border.
The detained individual was identified as N.E.M., born in 1988. He attempted to transport 10 cows from Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan, bypassing official border crossings.
The detained animals were presumably intended for illegal transportation across the border. To prevent further violations, the detainee along with the animals was taken to the unit of the State Border Service for investigation.
The border guards reminded that violations of the rules for crossing the state border and attempts to illegally transport goods and animals may result in criminal liability under the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
