Among those dismissed is Rufat Abdurazak, the head of the personnel department of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Chui Region, who is the husband of the sister of the former head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).
Also relieved of his duties was Chyngyz Tokoldoshev, the head of the Internal Affairs Department of Balykchy, a close friend of Zhakypbekov.
Changes also affected Aizatbek Uchbaev, the deputy head of the Pervomaisky District Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek for operational work, who is also connected by friendship with the former head of the GKNB.
On February 10, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, signed a decree removing Kamchybek Tashiev from the position of Deputy Prime Minister and head of the State Committee for National Security.
He was replaced by Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov as the acting head of the GKNB.
In addition, three deputy heads of the GKNB resigned.
On February 14, there was a change in leadership at the Main Directorate of the GKNB for Bishkek: instead of Eldar Zhakypbekov, Ulan Biibosunov became the new head. On February 15, Zhakypbekov was detained.
Also on February 16, Salmoora Jumabekova was removed from the position of head of the Main Directorate of the GKNB for Osh and Osh Region.
