Using the latest technologies, criminals create fake video messages, impersonating well-known figures, including the president. These materials are often generated with the help of artificial intelligence.
“The main goal of such videos is to mislead people, gain their trust, and prompt them to transfer money or disclose personal information,” said police representatives.
In light of the above, the Ministry of Internal Affairs strongly recommends:
- not to trust videos from dubious and unfamiliar sources;
- to verify information exclusively through official channels of government institutions;
- to avoid clicking on suspicious links;
- not to send money or share personal information based on internet video messages.
