
The rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of the Kyrgyz Republic reported the discovery of the body of 59-year-old shepherd D.A. on February 18. The man went missing under a snow avalanche on February 12 in the village of Kyzyl-Oy, located in the Suusamyr rural district of the Chui region. After several days of intensive searches, his body was retrieved from under the snow.
Seventy personnel participated in the operation to find the shepherd, organized under the direction of MES head Urmatbek Shamyrkanov.
It is worth noting that along with the shepherd, 50 sheep and one horse were also caught in the avalanche. The search efforts were conducted in an intensified mode from the very beginning of the incident.
The MES of the Kyrgyz Republic emphasized that work to ensure safety in mountainous areas and to prevent similar incidents continues.
