Turkey is hit by unprecedented snowfalls: schools are closed in the provinces
According to Euronews, Turkey has faced record snowfalls that have affected a wide range of mountainous areas in the Black Sea region.

Particularly heavy precipitation has been observed in the provinces of Rize, Artvin, Giresun, Ordu, and Trabzon, where snow clearing operations are ongoing around the clock.

Since the beginning of winter, these regions have already experienced heavy snowfalls, creating a significant snow cover that complicates movement and life for local residents.

Specialized vehicles and equipment are being used to address the consequences of the bad weather. Road services are working without breaks to ensure passage on the main highways connecting settlements. Priority is given to clearing routes to hospitals, schools, and other important infrastructure facilities.

Due to the heavy snowfall, educational institutions were closed in 14 provinces, and children, taking advantage of the forced break, entertained themselves by sliding down hills on plastic bags.

In Van, the snow cover reached half a meter in just one night.

In the old town of Safranbolu, located in Karabük province, residents filled the narrow streets, turning the slopes into improvised ski trails.

In the Karliova district of Bingöl province, two days of continuous snowfall led to the blocking of rural roads and the suspension of student transportation.

The bad weather disrupted the usual rhythm of life in some parts of the country; however, many enjoyed a brief pleasure from the rare winter landscape.
