According to information provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the incident took place around midnight in the square near Savelovsky Railway Station. An unknown individual approached the patrol car, after which an explosive device detonated, as reported by the agency.
As a result of this incident, one police officer was killed, and two other traffic police officers were injured and hospitalized.
According to the Investigative Committee, the suspect in the explosion also died at the scene. This information was confirmed after the examination of the crime scene and analysis of surveillance camera footage.
A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the attempted murder of traffic police officers.
