
In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, a suspect was detained in connection with a series of pickpocketing incidents that occurred on bus route No. 135.
A resident of Bishkek named Zh. I. reported to the Leninsky District Police Department about the disappearance of her mobile phone. On February 5, after she got on bus No. 135 near the Osh market and traveled to Lavanovsky Street, she discovered that her iPhone 16 Pro was missing.
Based on this incident, a criminal case was opened under Article 205 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As a result of operational measures, police officers managed to detain A. A., who had a previous conviction and was registered as a pickpocket. He was placed in a temporary detention facility.
The court decided to keep the suspect in custody for a period of two months.
The investigation revealed that the stolen phone had been sold in the Osh market area. During searches in places where mobile phones are sold, the police seized more than 60 devices, among which was the victim's phone.
Police officers strongly urge citizens to remain vigilant in public places, including transport and markets, and not to leave their money and valuables unattended. In case of suspicious situations, it is recommended to contact the nearest police station or call 102.
