The senior investigator of the criminal investigation department, T. R. Z., from the Talas district police department has been detained on suspicion of extortion. According to information provided by the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), he systematically demanded money from citizens, threatening them with criminal liability.
On February 21, SCNS employees, together with officers from the internal intelligence service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, detained the suspect while he was receiving part of the extorted amount of 100,000 soms.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect had been exerting pressure on citizen T. N. T. for a long time, demanding money from him, which called into question his status as a law enforcement officer.
The detained individual has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the Talas city police department, where investigative activities are ongoing to identify possible accomplices in this crime.
