"For 5-10 thousand soms, young people sell their bank cards and then get detained," - Head of the Bishkek Main Internal Affairs Department

At a meeting with residents of the Oktyabrsky district on March 27, the head of the Bishkek Department of Internal Affairs, Azamat Toktonaliev, urged young people not to sell their bank cards.

He noted that schoolchildren and students often sell their banking information for amounts ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 soms.

Toktonaliev warned that cardholders could face criminal consequences. "Dear parents, if you open a bank card for your children, please be aware that transferring or selling this card to third parties is a crime. Since the beginning of the year, more than 30 minors have already been held accountable, and in some cases, even arrests have occurred," he added.
