According to the provided information, on January 20, 2026, at approximately 7:40 AM, a dead man, believed to be around 60 years old, was found on the 273rd kilometer of the Bishkek – Osh highway. He was struck by a vehicle whose driver left the scene of the accident.
During operational activities conducted by the police officers of the Jalal-Abad region, the suspect was identified and arrested. He turned out to be a native of the Leilek district in the Batken region, born in 1997. He was detained at the Too-Ashuu pass while attempting to transport his vehicle with the help of a tow truck.
The suspect has been handed over to the investigative authorities of the Toktogul District Department of Internal Affairs. Currently, technical examinations and investigative actions are being carried out.
