Frank Aylett, a devoted fan of "Manchester United," became known for his unusual promise: he decided not to cut his hair until his favorite team achieves five consecutive victories. So far, this goal remains unattainable.
The last time Aylett visited a barber was in October 2024, and since then, 493 days have passed. His challenge began during Erik ten Hag's tenure and continues even after the change of several coaches, among whom Michael Carrick became the fifth.
Recently, he streamed a Premier League match against "West Ham," which ended in a draw (1:1). During the broadcast, about 120,000 viewers watched him, and he reacted emotionally to the events of the game, including a disallowed goal, which prolonged his wait for five victories.
This unusual initiative has made Aylett an internet celebrity: his Instagram account has gathered 1.4 million followers, and he has started receiving advertising contract offers. His afro has become a symbol of the club's unstable performance.
Carrick confirmed that he is aware of the challenge but noted that it does not affect the team's results. Additionally, Frank found himself in the spotlight after an incident at "Old Trafford," when another fan grabbed his hair. As a result, this offender was banned from attending the stadium.
Since "Manchester United" has been eliminated from all cup competitions, the next opportunity for the team to achieve the necessary winning streak, and consequently for Aylett to get a haircut, may only arise in March.
