On the sixth day of the Olympic Games in Italy, the events were filled with surprises.

In the women's snowboard halfpipe competition, 17-year-old Gaon Choi from South Korea took first place with a score of 90.25, surpassing Chloe Kim from the USA, who finished with 88.00 points and was aiming for her third consecutive Olympic gold medal. The bronze medal went to Japan's Mitsuki Ono, who scored 85.00 points.

In the men's freestyle mogul, Australia's Cooper Woods became his country's first Olympic champion at the 2026 Games. He achieved the same score as Canada's Mikael Kingsbury but surpassed him in technical evaluation. The bronze was won by Japan's Ikuma Horishima.

As for the men's snowboard cross, Alessandro Hemmerle from Austria claimed victory, finishing just 0.03 seconds ahead of Canada's Elliott Gronden. His compatriot Jakob Duzek took the bronze medal.

In the women's super-G, Italy's Federica Brignone finished first with a time of 1:23.41, silver went to Romain Mirazoli from France, and the bronze was awarded to Austria's Cornelia Hütter.

In the team relay for luge, Germany won gold, Austria took silver, and Latvia received the bronze medal.

The Netherlands secured two gold medals in short track: Xandra Velzebur won gold in the women's 500 meters, while Jens van 't Wout took gold in the men's 1000 meters.

In hockey matches, Canada confidently defeated the Czech Republic 5:0, the USA won against Latvia (5:1), Germany beat Denmark (3:1), and Switzerland triumphed over France (4:0).

The sixth day of the Games showcased a generational shift: new talents are beginning to shine brighter, while experienced athletes are losing their positions due to mistakes. The competition for medals is becoming increasingly fierce.
