In the first half of the day, competitions among female skiers took place in Cortina d'Ampezzo in the downhill event. Breezy Johnson was the winner, while silver went to Emma Aicher from Germany, and the bronze medal was awarded to Italian Sofia Goggia.
However, the competition was marred by the fall of legendary skier Lindsey Vonn, who returned to competition in 2024 after a five-year break. Vonn was urgently evacuated by helicopter.
Later it was reported that the 41-year-old athlete was hospitalized in Treviso, where she underwent surgery.
Doctors stated that "in the afternoon, Vonn underwent orthopedic surgery to stabilize a fracture of her left leg."

In the men's skiathlon over a distance of 10+10 kilometers, gold was won by Norwegian Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, silver went to Frenchman Mathis De Loze, and bronze was awarded to another Norwegian, Martin Løwstrøm Nygård.
Fourth place was taken by Russian Saveliy Korosteleva, who competed under a neutral flag. At one point, he had a chance for a medal as De Loze received a warning for cutting the course during a pit stop. The Russian team filed an appeal, but the jury decided to keep the results unchanged since the Frenchman did not gain a significant advantage.
