The official application from the Kyrgyz Football Union to host the final stage of the Asian Cup (U-23) in 2028 has been submitted to the Asian Football Confederation.

Sixteen teams will participate in the competition, which will go through qualifying matches.

In addition to Kyrgyzstan, applications to host the tournament have also been submitted by Jordan, Japan, Qatar, the UAE, and Uzbekistan.

From March 2 to 6, an inspection visit by AFC representatives is expected, which will assess the infrastructure and the country's readiness for the tournament. The results of the inspection and the submitted documents will help determine which country will host the tournament, the KFU reports.

The Youth Asian Cup has been held six times in different countries: in Oman (2013), Qatar (2016, 2024), China (2016), Thailand (2020), Uzbekistan (2022), and Saudi Arabia (2026).

The Kyrgyzstan team has reached the final round of the Asian Cup in this age category once. In Saudi Arabia, the Kyrgyz were unable to advance past the group stage.
