Akmataliev competed in the 70 kg category and began his journey from the 1/8 finals.
In his first match, the Kyrgyzstani faced a Russian wrestler who is the current European champion in the 65 kg weight class. Ernazar won this match, and then, in the next bout, he proved to be stronger than his opponent from Moldova.
In the semifinals, Akmataliev fought against a Kazakh wrestler, managing to clinch victory in the last seconds with an impressive 4-point throw.
The final match was against an athlete from the USA, where the Kyrgyzstani won with a narrow score of 3:2.
Thus, as a result of the tournament, Ernazar Akmataliev earned a gold medal, taking 1st place.
The bronze medal in the same weight category was awarded to Zalkarbek Tabaldiev, who took 3rd place.
Rustam Kakharo also participated in the tournament, starting from the 1/8 finals, but lost to Tabaldiev.
