In the 72 kg category, Razak Beyshekeyev reached the semifinals, where he faced a wrestler from Iran and suffered a defeat. However, in the match for third place, he emerged victorious against a Kazakhstani athlete.
As for Uzur Juzupbekov, in the 97 kg weight category, he was stopped by a Russian wrestler in the quarterfinals, who continued on to the finals, thus opening up the opportunity for the Kyrgyzstani to compete for a medal.
In the consolation tournament, Uzur achieved victories over opponents from Azerbaijan and Iran, which allowed him to win the bronze award.
