Kyrgyzstan's Islam Narynbekov won gold at the World Weightlifting Championship in San Francisco

Islam Narynbekov, a native of the village of At-Bashy in the Naryn region, became the gold medalist at the California Open IKO World Championship for Clubs & Individuals, which took place on February 27-28 in San Francisco, as reported by the Federation of Kettlebell Sport of the Kyrgyz Republic.

He won in the biathlon discipline with 32 kg kettlebells in the over 95 kg category.

In addition to participating in the competition, Narynbekov was also invited as an international category referee to the tournament's judging panel.

His sports career includes victories at the 2024 World Championship in Cholpon-Ata, the title of champion of the USA and the 2025 Pan American Games, a silver medal at the 2023 Asian Championship, as well as four consecutive golds at the national championship.
