Zarina Asanova won the bronze medal at the tournament in Thailand

Athlete from Kyrgyzstan Zarina Asanova won a bronze medal at an international boxing tournament held in Thailand.

The competition, called the World Boxing Futures Cup, dedicated to young athletes under 19 years old, took place in Bangkok from March 8 to 15.

Asanova competed in the category up to 70 kg, where there were only five female boxers among the participants.

As a result of the draw, the Kyrgyzstani began her journey in the tournament from the semifinals, where she was set to face Italian athlete Sara Scorrano.

The first round ended in favor of her opponent, who confidently led with a score of 5:0 (10-8, 10-9, 10-8, 10-8, 10-8). In the final minute of the second round, the referee decided to stop the fight after several knockdowns.

Despite the defeat, Asanova managed to secure third place and was awarded a bronze medal.
