Mario Balotelli, a 35-year-old forward and former star of the Italian national team, has signed a contract with the Dubai club "Al-Ittihad," which competes in the First Division of the United Arab Emirates.
The forward arrived in the UAE earlier this week, and according to local media, his contract will last for two and a half years. The intrigue surrounding the transfer was fueled by the club's posts on Instagram, which featured a silhouette of the player with the question: "Our next transfer?"
Currently, "Al-Ittihad" is at the bottom of the First Division table, having only 6 points after 11 matches. The club's management hopes that Balotelli's experience will help the team get out of this difficult situation.
Throughout his career, Balotelli has represented clubs such as Inter, Manchester City, AC Milan, and Liverpool, and his move to "Al-Ittihad" marks his 14th transfer. This will also be the sixth country in which he will play. The last official match the forward played was in December 2024 for "Genoa." He has played 36 matches for the Italian national team, scoring 14 goals, with his last appearance on the field in 2018.
