Bill and Hillary Clinton will testify in the Epstein case

The Clintons had previously declined to participate personally in the hearings, although they expressed a willingness to cooperate. They claimed that the committee chair is seeking to conduct a politically motivated process, which they believe is aimed at their criminal prosecution.

The Oversight Committee recommended holding some Democrats accountable for contempt of Congress, which could lead to criminal consequences. Such an offense carries a penalty of up to one year in prison and a fine of $100,000.

According to the NYT, a vote in the House of Representatives to hold two Democrats in contempt of Congress is expected to take place in the coming days. House Speaker Mike Johnson, who welcomed the news of the Clintons' agreement, did not specify whether the scheduled vote would be canceled, as reported by Reuters.

During interrogations, Epstein evaded questions about his relationships with Bill Clinton, whose name and images were mentioned in the criminal case materials. Investigators also sought to determine whether Clinton visited Epstein's island, where, according to the investigation, acts of sexual violence against minors occurred.
