
As reported by MiddleAsianNews, on February 5, 2026, the Chairman of the Great State Khural (GSK) of Mongolia, Uchral Nyam-Osor, met with the Ambassador of Japan to Mongolia, Igawahara Masaru.
Speaking to the press, the parliamentary speaker emphasized that within the framework of the new five-year development strategy for Mongolia for 2026-2030, approved by the GSK, he will focus on protecting the interests of investors and creating a more attractive investment climate.
In addition, Nyam-Osor presented his initiative called "Let's Free Ourselves," aimed at creating a legal environment that promotes equal access to human rights and freedoms, as well as providing opportunities for working citizens. In this context, he noted that the GSK is actively engaged in reforms in the banking sector and improving the legal environment, which will support foreign investors.

Ambassador Igawahara Masaru expressed his readiness for joint work to further strengthen the "Special Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity" and deepen bilateral cooperation against the backdrop of a complex international situation.
He also expressed a desire to actively promote the development of visits and cooperation between the two countries in 2026, emphasizing the importance of inter-parliamentary interaction in the role of the GSK speaker.

Igawahara Masaru also expressed satisfaction with the positive information about the investment program that was approved within the framework of the "Five-Year Guidelines for the Development of Mongolia for 2026-2030."
The ambassador emphasized that support is crucial for accelerating banking reforms, developing artificial intelligence technologies and information technologies, as well as improving legal conditions for investments.
