The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, expressed his sincere condolences to Asif Ali Zardari, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as well as to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in connection with the tragic events that occurred on February 6 in Islamabad, where people lost their lives as a result of a terrorist act.

In his message, he emphasized that Kyrgyzstan categorically condemns terrorism and its manifestations that threaten global peace and stability. Japarov also reaffirmed the country's commitment to developing international cooperation in the fight against terrorism and other security threats.

It is worth noting that on February 6, an explosion occurred on the outskirts of Islamabad, near a Shia mosque in the Tarlai Kalan area, during Friday prayers. According to foreign sources, at least 31 people were killed, and many others were injured. The investigation is considering the version of a terrorist act involving a suicide bomber: the suspect was stopped at the entrance to the mosque and then detonated the explosive device. At the time of the explosion, hundreds of worshippers were inside the building, and some of the injured are in serious condition. Pakistani authorities do not rule out an increase in the number of casualties. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, the area is cordoned off, and an investigation is underway.
