As a result of the explosion that occurred on February 6 near a Shia mosque on the outskirts of Islamabad, at least 31 people were killed and dozens were injured. This is reported by international news agencies.

The explosion occurred in the Tarlai Kalan area during Friday prayers. Investigators are considering the possibility that this could have been a terrorist attack carried out by a suicide bomber. According to preliminary data, the suspect was not allowed into the mosque and activated the explosive device at the entrance.

At the time of the incident, hundreds of people were inside the mosque. The injured were urgently hospitalized in medical facilities in the capital, including some who are in serious condition.
