According to the new amendments, labor migrants are required to provide for themselves and their dependent family members at a level not lower than the subsistence minimum, taking into account the relevant "regional coefficient." These measures will not apply during the initial processing of the patent and for those who work only for individuals for personal needs, as stated in the document.
Additionally, on February 6, the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation supported a bill that tightens the requirements for medical examinations for migrants. According to the new law, foreigners planning to stay in Russia for more than 90 days for work, study, or other reasons must undergo testing for HIV and drugs within the first month, and then repeat this procedure annually. Violations of the rules are subject to fines ranging from 25,000 to 50,000 rubles.
