In 2025, the number of crimes in Tajikistan amounted to 23,448, which is 1,134 more than in 2024, when 22,314 cases were recorded. This data was announced at a press conference at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic on February 12.
According to the agency, the crime detection rate last year was 78%.
In 2025, there was an increase in the number of cases of rape, robbery, and drug-related crimes, while the number of murders, kidnappings, and hooliganism decreased.
In particular, the statistics are as follows:
- murders and attempted murders – 74 (in 2024 – 75);
- robberies – 32 (28);
- thefts – 107 (86);
- rapes – 49 (41);
- intentional infliction of serious harm to health – 119 (117);
- hooliganism – 1559 (1663);
- kidnappings – 9 (10);
- illegal possession and manufacture of weapons – 26 (31);
- corruption crimes – 56 (61);
- illegal drug trafficking, their manufacture and transportation – 905 (745);
- fraud – 3857 (3480);
- thefts – 3902 (3858).
Increase in the number of traffic accident victims
The Minister of Internal Affairs Ramazon Rahimzoda also reported an increase in the number of traffic accidents and fatalities resulting from accidents in Tajikistan.
According to him, in 2025, 1,373 traffic accidents were recorded, resulting in the deaths of 643 people, while another 1,542 were injured.
In 2024, there were 1,233 accidents that claimed the lives of 552 people.
