As noted by Nazarzoda, in 2025, more than 6700 people were wanted. "Thanks to effective cooperation with law enforcement agencies of other countries, 835 wanted individuals were returned to Tajikistan," he added.
According to him, the majority of those detained are in Russia and Kazakhstan, but there have also been extraditions from European countries.
However, Nazarzoda did not provide details on the number of detainees from specific countries.
During a meeting in Dushanbe in September 2025, Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev informed his Tajik counterpart Ramazon Rahimzoda that Russian law enforcement agencies had detained about 400 citizens of Tajikistan wanted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan over the past 8 months.
He also noted that this number is almost twice as high as the figures for 2024, when about 260 wanted individuals were detained.
