The number of US military aircraft at a military base in Jordan has increased

At the "Muwaffaq Salti" base, the number of American combat aircraft has significantly increased amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran. According to information published on February 21 by The New York Times, this is confirmed by satellite images and flight tracking data.

Images taken on Friday show that there are more than 60 strike aircraft at the base, which is nearly three times the usual number of equipment at this facility. Flight data also indicates that at least 68 transport aircraft have landed at the base since February 15. There are reports that some of the new fighters may be in shelters.

Additionally, satellite images have spotted modern F-35 fighters, which are not typically stationed at this base, as well as drones, helicopters, and new air defense systems.

In February, Reuters also reported on the expansion of the American military presence at the "Al Udeid" base in Qatar.

Jordanian authorities confirmed that the deployment of American aircraft and equipment is being carried out as part of a defense agreement with the United States.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump noted that a "massive armada" is heading towards Iran, hoping for the possibility of reaching an agreement on the nuclear program. In response, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that the republic will defend its right to enrich uranium, even if it leads to conflict.
