
On March 1, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, held a series of telephone conversations with representatives of Middle Eastern countries, during which he discussed the current situation in the region and conveyed words of support from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to information from the minister's Telegram channel, among Saidov's interlocutors were:
- the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani;
- the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, Sheikh Jarrakh Al-Sabah;
- the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi;
- the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, Ayman Safadi;
- the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani;
- the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the discussions, emphasis was placed on the necessity of respecting state sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the importance of peaceful conflict resolution using political and diplomatic methods, which aligns with international norms and contributes to regional stability.
Additionally, Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov. Both sides expressed unity on issues related to ensuring state sovereignty and adherence to international law, and emphasized the importance of dialogue for resolving existing tensions.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan expressed its "serious concern" regarding the escalation of the situation in the Middle East, caused by attacks from the United States and Israel on Iran and Iran's retaliatory actions against neighboring countries.
The Ministry called on all parties to exercise restraint and refrain from actions that could lead to serious escalation with unpredictable consequences both militarily and humanitarian-wise.
Uzbekistan consistently advocates for strengthening security and stability in the region, hoping for a swift normalization of the situation, as stated in their official statement.
