Wang Yi, the Chinese Foreign Minister, stated the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the Middle East to prevent further escalation of the conflict and to avoid the situation spiraling out of control. This was reported by the "Xinhua" and Reuters agencies.

The minister emphasized that the current crisis cannot be resolved through the use of force, as this would only exacerbate the existing hatred and tension in the region. He also noted that it is necessary to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Gulf states, including Iran.

Wang Yi expressed dissatisfaction with the abuse of force and called for innocent civilians not to become victims of the conflict. Furthermore, he strongly recommended refraining from interfering in the internal affairs of the countries in the region and returning to diplomatic negotiations as soon as possible.

According to the Chinese diplomat, major world powers must take a more active role in ensuring peace and stability in the Middle East, and Beijing is ready to cooperate with the countries in the region to implement initiatives in global security.

On February 28, the United States and Israel began a joint military operation against Iran, during which the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, was killed, as confirmed by both Reuters and Iranian state media. In response, Tehran carried out missile strikes and drone attacks on Israel, as well as on American military bases and facilities in several countries in the region.

As a result of the conflict, shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has been nearly paralyzed, and oil prices have sharply increased.
