A strong flare has been recorded on the Sun for the first time in three weeks

On March 13 at 12:55 Moscow time, a class M1.2 flare occurred on the Sun, lasting about 20 minutes, reports the Solar Astronomy Laboratory.

This flare was the first of its kind in almost a month, with the previous flare of a similar class recorded on February 25.

This event is particularly noteworthy given the nearly month-long period of low solar activity.

Although the flare turned out to be ordinary, as M1.2 is on the border of the M-class, there will be no expected impact on Earth since it occurred at the edge of the solar disk. There are no signs indicating that this event could signal the Sun's exit from the current local minimum.

At the same time, streams of plasma from a coronal hole are approaching Earth, minor magnetic disturbances are already being recorded, and by the end of the day, a magnetic storm may occur.
