A flare on the Sun was recorded at 15:15 Moscow time. This event was accompanied by a noticeable plasma ejection directed towards Earth.
Additionally, this flare led to the destruction of a medium-sized prominence, which increases the mass of the ejected gases.
“The event can be classified as a rare frontal impact — apparently, the center of the plasma structure will reach Earth. This year, the planet has already experienced one impact of this type: from January 19 to 21, Earth observed a storm close to G5 level, accompanied by the strongest radiation storm of the 21st century,” researchers added.
