It is known that her parents suffered from drug addiction, lost their home, and separated. As a result, Noelia spent 12 years in shelters, and after reaching adulthood, she received a place in a social center. In 2022, she became a victim of gang rape, after which she repeatedly attempted to take her own life, once falling from a window and surviving, but becoming paralyzed.
According to Noelia, her body became a "prison," reminding her of the trauma she experienced. In 2024, suffering from constant physical and mental pain, she applied for the legalization of euthanasia, which was legalized in Spain in 2021.The procedure was carried out on March 26 at a medical facility in Sant Pere de Ribes, located in Catalonia. The girl, who became the youngest person in the country to undergo euthanasia, previously stated that she did not wish to see her loved ones during the procedure.
“I told my family that they could come to say goodbye, but not at the moment when I would be receiving the injection. I don’t want anyone to be present for that, so they don’t see me closing my eyes,” the publication El Pais quotes her as saying.
