As reported by NotebookCheck, experts link the incident to a hacker known by the alias Solonik. The stolen data was posted on the BreachForums forum on January 7, 2026, making it available to other malicious actors.

As a result of the breach, hundreds of millions of data entries and tens of millions of audio files were leaked online.
According to Spotify, the platform features over 100 million tracks, around 7 million podcasts, and approximately 350 thousand audiobooks, with a total user count exceeding 700 million.
