Currently, five healers have been identified who are practicing in violation of the law. However, the capabilities of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic are limited to administrative measures only. This was stated by Aman Osmonov, head of the licensing department of the Ministry of Health of the KR, in the program "Elden Sobol".
According to him, the responsibility for illegal medical activity is divided into criminal and administrative. If harm is caused to a citizen, the case is transferred to the jurisdiction of law enforcement agencies. The Ministry of Health imposes fines for the absence of the appropriate license.
“Previously, until 2024, the fine was 7,500 soms, we increased it to 100,000 soms, which is 10 times more. But even this amount does not stop the healers, as today we close one establishment, and tomorrow it starts operating again. Therefore, 100,000 soms is also not enough. We are considering the possibility of increasing fines,” Osmonov noted. He emphasized that during recent inspections, cases of selling aconite and other poisonous plants were recorded. Sellers cannot provide convincing evidence of the safety of their products. There is a regulation of the Customs Union that prohibits the use of more than 350 types of plants and goods as food for humans, but healers ignore these norms.
